Late Update

I had to blog on this historic date!

11/01/11

Isn't it that cool? I swear that I grew up during the best time of history. I got the best toys, best music, best movies and now best dates!

So I have started my Nanowrimo novel and I am happy (and yes I am tooting my own horn) that I am now at 3, 301 words!

And I had a major distraction as my final Queen boxset arrived today. HUZZAH!  I really want to do a review on each disc. I am looking forward to rediscovering these songs.

I had a fun evening yesterday at my dad's and trick-or-treating around his neighborhood. We ate a ton of pizza and a ton of candy. And Logan was able to go around the block with his cousins and come back with a decent haul.

Logan was a Dementor this year. I did his make up even though he didn't think he needed it.

Happy Halloween (and more)!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Logan went as a spider last year. This year he is a Dementor from Harry Potter

Today not only is Halloween but it also marks the 1-year Anniversary of the conclusion of the 365-Day Blog Challenge. And if you re-read that last entry you will also see that it was the last time that I have spoken in Church as well.

It is hard to believe that it was only a year ago that I finished up this quest. It doesn't seem that long ago at all. This year I obviously have not blogged as much, by my count, including this column, I have blogged 192 times this year. Which is ten more than if I blogged half the time during the year. So I did blog more than half the time (although that was just barely)!

I do plan on blogging a little more this year than I did last year but if I got the same amount, I think I would be satisfied enough. But don't look for a lot of blogs coming this coming month. The Nanowrimo competition starts tomorrow and I plan on cranking out my novel furiously. I even have some new music that I got just for this occasion.

I will still be blogging but it may only be once or twice a week during this coming month.

The Crooked Man

For the last couple of weeks I have been plugging through my series of Hellboy books. All of them have been extremely entertaining and full of action but I have not come across a story yet that sent shivers down my spine. It is possible that I am hard-hearted, desensitized perhaps would be the better word. But none of the scary stories have truly scared me.

That is until The Crooked Man.
In 1956, somewhere in the mountains of West Virginia, Hellboy encounters Tom, a man who in his youth sold his sold to a backwoods demon known as the Crooked Man. Together they travel back into the dark heart of the Appalachian Mountains to confront that demon and see if Tom's soul can't be saved.
Maybe it got to me because this was the first supernatural Hellboy story that took place in the United States, you know, close to home. It could have been because of its location in the mountains. That is kinda freaky since I live so close to the mountains. It also could be that it had to do with demons, and that can be very real to me. There are a ton of reasons, watching a witch slip into a human skin, the Mellingeon Witches (which are the settlers that disappeared at Roanoke which mixed in with the Croatan Indians) who follow and call for them while they hike to find the Crooked Man and the tense stand-off between the Crooked Man and his followers and Tom, Hellboy and a priest in a church.

While all that can be downright spooky, that is not what makes this story so spine-chilling.

I'll never EVER go hiking in the Appalachian Mountains.

What really got me was the creepy art by legend Richard Corben. His interpretation and first appearance of the Crooked Man is what gave me a huge case of the willies.

This fantastically creepy story is now my all-time favorite Hellboy stories. If you like to be frightened and haunted by something odd and unsettling, this book is for you. I won't give away any more details or what happens to Tom. You'll just have to read it for yourself.

Halloween Flashback

One of my favorite costumes as a kid was when I dressed up like a mummy. I remember that we took pictures of me in my costume but they were not in the large orange crate that my mom has that has all of our photos in.

My mom came over recently and she had found a mess of pictures which included me as the mummy.

Random Ramblings: Ugh

Sneezing, Aching, Coughing: Yeah, I have been sick the last couple of days. UGH.  It started Sunday night with a sore throat and by morning I was hurting all over. Each day has been a new symptom. Today my chest feels as if a hippos was using it as a pillow. But on the bright side, I am not sore and my throat feels much better. Wonder what tomorrow will bring.

Pondering: So I am still thinking of going back to school. And I am leaning on going back to school to learn to become a paralegal. I spoke to a recruiter on the horn yesterday and got some great information. I also spoke to our new Bishop as well. He is a lawyer and I wanted to know his opinion on a paralegal career. I got some really good information from him as well. He basically told me that if I am really good, I will be in high demand. I am checking a few other places out and we'll see what comes from that.

Coaching: Last night Logan had a football game and I was called into action to coach. The real coach's son had his wrist snapped during a play and you could hear that poor kid scream. Now this kid seems to get hurt every week and comes crying off the field. And I am ashamed to say that I thought the same thing was happening. His dad teases him and when he was carrying him off the field he was saying that his wrist was broke. We didn't know how to act, it looked like he could be dramatizing the whole incident for his son, who also likes to dramatize things. And then I saw the huge bump by his wrist. It was for real. So he called me in to coach the team. This accident really shook the boys and it was hard to get them to focus. I have to admit that I was a bit distracted by it as well. Poor kid, Logan was already traumatized when the team tried to play "skins". We didn't have enough players on our team so the other coach lent us a few of his players.

Reading: It came!

My big free X-Men Omnibus came in the mail yesterday and it is glorious! And the best part is that it is FREE! So that whole survey thing that I have blogged about? It is for real, I got my Amazon codes and the codes worked and I got my first product. Looking forward to January to get the 2nd volume free and I already have another $60 in codes waiting to be used. It looks like the 3rd Queen Boxset will be mine next month!

Brainstorming: Next month is NaNoWriMo. And I am a bit excited to get cranking on a new novel. I don't want to share the main idea (it would blow the whole mystery) but it involves a man who begins to realize that the life he currently leads is not the life he remembers. But his past life seems so ridiculous that it couldn't possibly be true. The novel will either be called "Parallel Lies" or "Secrets" or something like that.

Growing: Not only did we get some great green peppers but we also got some awesome pumpkins. We got about 8 pumpkins and we cooked on this morning to make cupcakes out of. Look how pretty they are!

Anticipating: I love Halloween. I love strange and spooky things. And I am looking forward to Season 2 of the Walking Dead. And I am looking forward to my annual tradition of reading horror comic books and novels and also watching Ichabod Crane, The Great Pumpkin and hours of the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episodes.

Platis Pumpkin Patch

Day 363

Last night we decorated some pumpkins for Halloween and ate some cookies and drank eggnog.

Here we are hard at work.

Here I am acting.

Logan trying not to smile while putting some eyebrows on his Frankenstein.

My black cat.

Ghost Rider.

Looks like real blood eh?

Logan's Frankenstein.

And the finished product. Kristy's pumpkin is the one in the middle.

Logan's Halloween Parade

Day 360

For Logan's first Halloween we dressed him up as Wolverine. We even made our own Wolverine movie which when I figure out how to upload it, I will debut it here.

Logan makes a perfect scarecrow for his 2nd Halloween.

I always wanted to have a cat.

He isn't just a Marvel guy. He dresses up as DC characters too!

Logan as a black widow.

I love his face here.

Instead of being a scary skeleton he wanted to go as one that glows in the dark.

This year he is going as a spider again. As you can tell he has his favorites.

List-Mania: Oh the Horror!

Day 356

I am totally stealing my cousin's (and fellow blogger) idea to list his favorite spooky movies. Since it is Halloween and a good idea is a good idea, I am going to list my 5 Favorite Horror Movies. I am not a huge fan of the slasher pics and I am definitely not into the torture stuff (Hostel, Saw) but I do like to be creeped out.

5) The Omen (1976)

Oh man. Kids can sure be creepy and this kid takes the cake. I would probably walk across the street if I saw this kid walking towards me. Why is this kid so creepy? Because he is the son of the devil, Damian. Gregory Peck was fantastic in this film as a desperate dad trying to figure out if his adoptive son is really the Antichrist. My favorite scene is when his dad takes a close look at his son's scalp (while Damian is sleeping) and finds a 666 birthmark. But that scene was trumped by the creepy smile we get at the end of the film.

4) The Shining

Stephen King can sure write some creepy books but unfortunately the movies that are made from the books fall a bit short. Sure we have Carrie, but that means we also get Thinner. But the Shining really is the best of the bunch. Of course Jack Nicholson is already a little creepy in his own right but make him trot around the empty halls sporting an ax and a demented look in his eyes and you have one of the creepiest dude ever. My favorite scene has to be when his wife (whom I could not stand!) discovers his novel and finds that it is just the same line repeated over and over again. "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". And then he sneaks up on her. Even the poster for the film leaves me a weird feeling.

3) The Thing (1982)

Science Fiction has given us some of the scariest films around. From the Alien series to the Fly but John Carpenter's remake of The Thing was on an entirely different level. I loved the original movie and I loved the idea of a monster that can shape change. But this movie took a more realistic view of what would happen if there was a shape changer among us. The paranoia is ramped up to ten and I could actually feel the dread and anxiety of not knowing who to trust. My favorite scene is where they test each others blood to see if they are the creature or not. They put some blood in a small container and put a flame to it. That scene felt like hours. And the ending was perfect.

2) Night of the Living Dead (1968)

I do love my zombies and this classic is what started it all. I remember watching this movie on TV with my dad on Halloween and we were both drawn in. What made this movie great was not the zombies themselves (even though the little girl in the cellar was certainly creepy and I will never look at a cement trowel the same way) but it was how the survivors dealt with each other. Human nature is much more scarier than any monster. Now I don't want to ruin the ending because I highly recommend watching this movie, even if you are not a horror buff, you need to see this movie! The ending was so surprising, I totally didn't see it.coming and was shocking! And then just like that, it ended. My favorite scene was the last 20 minutes.

1) Halloween (1978)

Like I said before I am not a big fan of the slasher films but yet the grandaddy of them all is my favorite horror film. Jason and Freddy don't freak me out because I know they cannot exist. Michael on the other hand could certainly exist. And that is what makes him more scary than the rest of the films. Michael was not a monster but just a crazy person. I remember when this movie came out. I was only four years old and I was watching  Siskel and Ebert at the Movies and they showed a clip from this film. It was when she was hiding the kids from Michael and they said that the bogeyman was coming to get them. I ran upstairs to my mom it scared me so much. Just a small clip scared me! Flash forward to my college days and I saw this movie for the first time. And then I saw that scene again and I remembered that horrible creepy feeling. My favorite scene in the movie is when Dr. Loomis goes to the Mental Hospital and they find that the power is knocked out (and it is night time). They see these strange ghosts in the field when the lightning flashes and they realize it is the inmates of the hospital. And then they know Michael is on the loose!

I might have to watch a few of these here in the next couple of weeks. There are other Halloween films that I love too that are a little safer to watch and are not truly horror films. Maybe I will share those next week.

Halloween Howl '96

Day 353

One of my favorite things to do for Halloween is dress up. Unfortunately I am also quite lazy and I usually end up not dressing up because I had no time to throw together a costume. But when I take the time to dress up, I like to go the whole way. I like to put as much detail into my costumes as possible.

The year after I came home from my LDS mission I went to USU's Halloween Howl. This huge party is up on campus on Utah State University and it usually as a spook alley, dancing, hypnotists, comedians and a ton more. Everyone dresses up and it goes on into the wee hours of the morning.

My friend Damond and I decided to go and so we dressed up. I decided to go as a comic superhero (does that surprise anyone?) Robin. I had a pair of green sweats and a red shirt. My mom helped sew on my yellow cape and I painted one of my old belts yellow. I also made a Robin logo out of cardboard and my mom sewed that on my shirt as well. I made my own pair of boots and then found a mask at a store.

I think I did a pretty decent job. I thought about dying an old pair of underwear red to really make it look like Robin's costume below but I am glad I didn't.

Everyone loved my costume. In fact during the howl these Chinese exchange students pulled me aside to take a picture with me. What was really cool about that was that they also found a Batman, Catwoman, Joker and Riddler to go along. I wish I had a copy of that picture. So somewhere, someplace in the world, someone has this picture.

I wore this costume again during Halloween when I went to the local Pumpkin Walk. I went with Damond and a couple of girls from our Church. We had decided to stop by Smith's (a grocery store) to buy some treats for later. As we were walking out into the parking lot I heard a kid call out "Robin!" I turned and saw this little girl staring up at me with her eyes wide open. I smiled at her and walked over and said "Hello good citizen." She didn't move at all. I placed my hand on her shoulder and gave her a high-five with the other and told her that she should be good and help her mom at all times. She smiled and then ran to her mom excitedly (who was putting groceries in the trunk of their car) saying how she had seen and talked with Robin!

I don't know why that memory has been so ingrained into my mind. I don't even remember who all was with me and what we did beside going to the Pumpkin Walk. But I certainly remember that little brown-haired girl. I wish I was a superhero!

Breinholt Halloween Party 2010

Day 352

Thanks Logan for blogging for me yesterday. I am still feeling under the weather, my body is so sore and cold and I am quite dizzy. But otherwise than that, I feel alright.

I was going to blog about the Annual (well, it has been two years in a row) Breinholt Halloween Party yesterday and while Kristy and Andrea have already blogged about it, I feel like I need to blog about it too since they missed a few major details.

But before I get to the party I have a special announcement for ALL fellow bloggers.

**Andrea and I got to talking and we would like to have a special meet-up for all fellow bloggers next month. We were thinking of meeting in Layton/Ogden area for dinner the first weekend in November (which would be the 5th or 6th). We don't have to do it on a weekend if during the evening works better. So comment on my blog where you would like to go and when would be the best time.**

We all headed out about 11:30 and got to the Renae's church (yeah, she has her own church) around 1:30 and got some food prepared and got the gym all set up. There was a TV where you can watch some Halloween movies, there was a couple of bouncy houses for the kids, there was a table of food (for the adults) and a couple of other tables for games. Unfortunately not everyone could make it and I cannot say that I missed them since I was having a lot of fun. It would have been nice to see everyone though.

We played Pictionary (girls vs boys) and the boys almost won. If I had not rolled a one five our of the six times we would have. I thought this was a costume party so I borrowed my mom's cat Snuggie and put a tail on the back and put on some cat ears. Man, I am getting old. The real reason I wanted to wear that Snuggie is because I was cold.

I noticed that when Kristy is around family or food she likes to dance.

The girls did win Pictionary even though Kristy had to draw with her eyes shut.

It was fun watching all my nieces and nephews play. I have said it before and I will say it again. I am very lucky to have the in-laws that I have.

Logan (and all the kids) loved the bouncy houses. Logan took down each one of his cousins. This was even after Uncle Steven threw him head over heels OVER the slide. Here Logan is taking Addy down.

Logan taking Monkey Jessica. You can tell he is totally posing, he is such a ham.

His cousin Zade sure had a rough time. I have never seen a kid get hurt so much! Notice the same smile on Logan? Yeah, he is going as a ham for Halloween.

Naythan and Logan sure had a good time.

This is what happens when a grown up attempts to go down. Steven started it and Lynn and Kristy just had to do it too.

What a kid.

We also played this game on the PS3 that was like a game show. You had a buzzer and everything. I love this game and that is because I am so darn good at it. While other bloggers neglected to blog about it, I won both games. Yeah, ol' Baldy is filled with useless information. This party also marked the one year anniversary of the blogging challenge. It was last year at our first Breinholt Halloween Party that I issued the yearly blogging challenge. It is amazing how fast the year has gone by.

It was fun catching up with everyone and it would have been nice if everyone could have shown up. A fun time was had by all. Thanks Renae and Steven for throwing it together! I hope this continues to be a yearly tradition.

The Walking Dead

Day 346

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. I don't know why I like the spooky stuff; maybe it is because fear is such a primal emotion. It gets the heart pumping, it raises your awareness, it makes you feel.

I am a sucker for horror movies. I don't know why I like them but I do. It is not like I seek them out but when they find me, I will sit still and watch them.

And zombies are the worst.

They are slow but nothing stops them. They are numerous but yet they can be one of your own family. I think that is what freaks me about them. Your closest friends and family can become zombies.

Anyway, I have mentioned many times before that one of my favorite graphic novels, The Walking Dead, was turned into a TV show and debuts this Halloween. I am looking forward to seeing that comic book come to life (heh... come to death would be a better phrase) and I am looking forward to being a bit spooked. If you have seen zombie movies and like them, this will be right up your alley. What sets this book above many others is that it is focused on the survivors and not the zombie apocalypse itself. You may never know what caused the zombie breakout and I personally don't care if I ever find out what the cause was. I care more for the survivors and believe me, there are not that many. The author, Robert Kirkman is not afraid to get rid of some favorite cast members at any time. Oftentimes, the zombies are merely an afterthought.

The real danger comes with those surviving with you.

Here are a couple of teasers of the show. The first one is relatively safe to watch.

The second clip, I will warn you is graphic and does contain some peppery language. All stuff I am sure I would be blurting out if I was in a zombie apocalypse! You can see it by clicking here. If you dare!

Cannot wait for Halloween!

I've Been Shot!

Day 345

Twenty more days!

For some reason Autumn always reminds me of mischief. Perhaps it is because of Halloween and all the trouble I used to make that night.

I used to fill up squirt guns with gasoline and shoot at neighbor's Jack O' Lanterns. I would hide in the bushes and jump out and scaring the crap out of unsuspecting kids. We would throw eggs and rotten tomatoes at cars on the highway. I remember one particular night I was with Damond and we were looking for some trouble and one of our friend's, Justin wanted to create some trouble for another kid that lived in our town whom we all called Chunk. We drove to his house and suddenly Justin sprung out this large hunting knife and he ran towards Chunk's house. Right in front of Chunk's home were about four-five large bags of leaves. We had all heard Chunk complaining about all the leaves he raked earlier. Justin stabbed each bag and ran all over the lawn dumping out all the leaves! Damond and I about died with laughter!

We also used to toilet paper homes. We did this more during the summer than we did in the fall but if the weather was nice enough we would do it anytime.

This is an epic example of toilet papering done right!

The first time I went toilet papering I thought I was going to die. Back in Canada, we never did this. Toilet papering was a completely foreign concept to me. But one late evening I was invited to go do it to one of the old crotchety guys in our neighborhood. Everything was going good, I was having a good time wrapping that poor man's house in toilet paper when suddenly I heard this:

pump shotgun sound clip

I turned my head and saw someone coming right at us. Then my one of my friend's yelled out "RUN!"

And I ran. Then suddenly I heard a loud BOOM and my friend hit the ground. I thought he was shot dead. I didn't look back, I ran even more faster than I thought was possible. I could hear my friend call out "I've been shot!"

Is this what they do here in the States? Is this what they do to kids when you live in a rural area? Did that guy really shoot my friend with a shotgun?

The answer to the last question is yes. He was shot with a shotgun but I learned the next day that he was shot with rock salt and not with a normal shell filled with buckshot. Shotgun pellets penetrate as a direct result of the "mass" of the individual pellets. Rock salt is much much lighter and therefore will not penetrate. But it will burn like nothing else. And that is what happened to my friend. He was shot in the back with rock salt, enough to make him grab his back in pain but not enough to do any damage. Maybe a few scrapes and scratches but that is it. I learned that a lot of farmers in the area would make and use rock salt shells to shoot at stray dogs or cats or other animals. It is enough to scare them but not enough to harm them.

But I didn't know that at the time. All I heard was a shotgun go off and then heard my friend yell out he has been hit. I was scared out of my wits.

We never toilet papered that old man again.

Halloween Hootenanny: An Evening with Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie

Day 339

And my ears are still ringing...

I am sure that by now you have heard that I got tickets to the Alice Cooper/Rob Zombie concert. Well, last night was the big night and it didn't disappoint.

I went to the concert with my brother-in-law Eric. I picked him up at his house around 2:30 and we headed down to Salt Lake to the Usana Amphitheatre and we were hoping that the weather would hold out. This was an outdoors concert and the weather called for thunderstorms and rain. We arrived in Salt Lake about an hour earlier than we figured so we stopped by Apollo Burger to grab some eats and shoot the bull while we waited for the concert to open. I got a Gyro plate and while we were eating to began to rain hard. It was depressing because it was really pouring. It cleared up a bit and we headed over to the concert.

The wind was blowing pretty good and it made things chilly but it was not raining. We sat down and waited for the show to start. I didn't mind getting there so early since that meant there was plenty of time to people watch. And every time I go to a concert, I am always surprised at who comes to a concert.

Get ready for a parade of pictures!

We had great seats to the show. We only had two rows in front of us and then the VIP section (which you can see here with the tables and chairs). For $25 I cannot complain.

I tried (and failed obviously) to get a self portrait. I was going to try again but I discovered that my camera's batteries were running low and I didn't want to waste it on shots of Eric and I.

This was a shot of the first band called the Murder Dolls. Not my type of music but they were entertaining. I always feel bad for opening bands. No one really cares for them and the crowd is not always that excited for them. The singer was pretty funny (and I have never been sworn at that many times) he said we should appreciate them for giving a concert in the daylight.

I had to take a shot of this lady that sat right to the right of me. She had to be about my mom's age. She blushed every time the Murder Dolls swore at us. At least I didn't have to worry about sitting next to any freaks.

The couple that sat next to me were awesome. The wife was very chatty and probably around my sister's age. She was totally into Alice Cooper and she asked me if I was going to stand up when the concert started. And then she asked if I would be embarrassed like her husband when she danced. She was surprised that I knew Alice Cooper's songs so well since I was a youngster. During the intermission between the Murder Dolls and Alice they played a strange set of songs including some rap, the Monster Mash, some teen pop crap. I joked that we were listening to Alice's playlist on his iPod. That became a running joke throughout the concert.

Alice Cooper was awesome! We got to see him die from overdose from a large needle, we saw his decapitate himself in a guillotine and he hung himself right in the middle of his I Never Cry song. He threw diamond necklaces (during his Dirty Diamonds song) with his mouth and threw thousands of dollars into the crowd during Billion Dollar Babies. I have to admit that I am not that familiar with his music but after preparing for this concert I am surprised at the different sounds he has. He can be very heavy metal (like Vengeance is Mine) but he can sing dancy songs (From the Inside) and very rockability songs (Under My Wheels). I would see Alice Cooper again.

SET LIST:
School's Out
No More Mr. Nice Guy
Wicked Young Man
Ballad Of Dwight Fry
Go To Hell
Cold Ethyl
Poison
From The Inside
Nurse Rozetta
Be My Lover
Only Women Bleed
I Never Cry
Black Widow Jam
Vengeance Is Mine
Dirty Diamonds
Billion Dollar Babies
Killer
I Love The Dead
Feed My Frankenstein
Under My Wheels
Eighteen

Alice thanked the crowd after his encore and said to watch out because there is a zombie running around. They turned on the lights and we sat down and caught our breath. It was an awesome show and we still had Rob Zombie coming! I chatted with the couple next to me and she suddenly got a text from her niece and mother who were down in the pit in front of the stage. You heard me right.. her niece (who was celebrating her 18th birthday) and her MOTHER was there. Her niece caught the guitarist's pick in her cleavage. I had to ask if it was her niece of mother when she told me. She replied that her mom probably fought her over it.

I enjoyed Alice Cooper's concert a lot more than I thought. He sounded great and I was happy with his choice for songs. I was surprised and delighted that Feed My Frankenstein was included. Frankenstein was a popular choice (and makes sense because of Halloween) since Rob Zombie had his own Frankenstein song.

And then the lights went out and the drums began to pound. Time for Rob Zombie! You can see Rob just to the right from that huge robotic monster. Zombie was extremely loud but the sound was so clear.

Rob Zombie's show was a lot more colorful and had a lot of flames. He also was more personable and spoke to us a lot more. He said that he was nervous to come to Salt Lake City just as much as Salt Lake City was nervous for Rob Zombie. Rob had a lot of energy and would run all around the stage.

Each song had a different look on stage. Living Dead Girl (which you can kinda see her on the large screen behind the band) was very white and bright.

They brought out that large robot from the Dragula video and he danced all around the stage. I would love to have that job. You can see Rob on the left singing.

I don't know why because this has happened more than once and at different venues but drunk girls really like me. The couple that was next to me had scooted down a bit away from me and there was a space next to me that could fit a couple of people. Suddenly I felt this hand on my shoulder that was pressing down. My first thought was that someone was falling. I looked back and helped the girl get down next to me. She turned to me and smiled and I went back to the concert when I felt her arm around my waist. My first thought was that she was still steadying herself so I paid no attention. But she did not let go. I elbowed Eric but he didn't do anything. She took a picture and suddenly she was gone. And no, she was not pickpocketing me. I left my wallet in the car.

During Thunder Kiss '65 Zombie disappeared from the stage and the guitarist began this very long and cool guitar solo (he played Monster Mash, the Star Spangled Banner and other songs) while Zombie roamed through the crowd. He stopped right in front of us! Only two rows down! See the spotlight? That was Zombie holding it. We all swarmed and I just held up my camera and snapped as many pics as I could.

If you look in the middle of this pic you can make out his face.

There he is!
That was so cool! He was right in front of us. He then went around to everyone.

Sadly, the concert came to an end but not before he gave us two encores! He came out and played Dragula which was all sorts of awesome and was the most colorful with all the red and flames. He even had this huge skeleton thing he stood on and sang from.

He also had these two skeleton creatures beating these drums which really amped up the song. We cheered like crazy (and I lost most of my voice) and he came out and said that we cannot have any more since we all had a curfew and needed a good night's sleep. And then he gave us Eric's favorite song in House of a 1,000 Corpses.

SETLIST:
Jesus Frankenstein
Superbeast
Scum of the Earth
Living Dead Girl
More Human Than Human
Sick Bubble-Gum
Demon Speeding
Drum Solo
Liquor
Mars Needs Women
Thunder Kiss '65
School's Out (Alice Cooper cover)
Werewolf Women of the SS
Dragula
House of a 1,000 Corpses

Rob thanked us for coming and the show unfortunately was over. What a great show, I was a bit disappointed that Rob's set was not longer but I loved every second of it. When I first heard Mars Needs Women I didn't care for it but after hearing the song live, I absolutely love it. Great, great show and absolutely no rain at all! It even warmed up a bit and by the time Zombie came on you could see some of the stars in the sky.

Eric and I then walked to the car but it being us, we couldn't find it. Just like when we went to the Utah Jazz game, we couldn't find our car. After walking around for about twenty minutes we found it and got in and drove home. It took us about a half an hour just to get out of the parking lot. We then dropped by a gas station to pick up some drinks (man did I need that Mountain Dew Livewire) and so Eric could use the bathroom. But the night clerk didn't have the key. I didn't want to try to find a bathroom so Eric went behind the gas station. See what happens when you go to a rocking concert? You lose all inhibitions!

I came home around 1:00 in the morning and I was too keyed up to sleep. And I dreamt about the concert.
