Bear Lake

Last Tuesday my sister Jennifer invited my family and I up to Bear Lake to spend the day with them at Justin's father's cabin. It sounded like it would be fun and it would be nice to dip our hot feet in a cold lake so we headed up there after I was done with work.

I have not been to Bear Lake in a year or so and I was shocked to see how full the lake was. Normally, you would have to walk and walk and walk to get to the water from the shore. But this time the water was right up to the road. The cabin was not even a stones throw away from the water. I have never seen it so full in my life!

If you look beyond the boat you might be able to see a patch of trees. That is where the water was last year.

The cabin was so awesome. It was better than most homes I have been in.

Normally I am not much of a water guy but I ventured on the jetski with Kristy driving.

We came back and snagged Logan. He was not a fan of it either but by the time we got back we were both used to it.

It was fun just to sit back in the fresh air, eat some Canadian candy (thanks Jennifer!) and chat and relax. It was a very nice day getaway.

Easter Gift Card Party

The other night my family and I went over to my sister's home for a late Easter party with my dad's family. We have been trying to get together since Easter but I got sick and then my sister had golf and suddenly it was already June.

My dad and I were especially excited for this get-together because we wanted to test out a new way of celebrating a holiday that includes gift-giving. Now I like gift giving because I like to find ways to serve other people. But with the family getting bigger and money getting tighter it can become a big stress and not something anyone would want to have during a holiday.

And then Kristy and I heard of this fun idea which I shared with my dad which should solve the stress and money woes but also keep the spirit and the fun of gift giving. We were going to give each other gift cards but in a different sort of way.

After a great BBQ and the games we had Root Beer Floats for dessert.

The rules are simple. Every member of every family is in charge of getting a $5 gift card from where ever they want. They could be grocery stores, Amazon, iTunes, places to eat, Walmart... ...you get the idea. After you purchase the gift card then you place them into an empty white envelope and seal them up. At the party you then put them all in a hat or bowl or where ever and then you play some sort of game to decide who gets to draw first.

We played Apples to Apples for our game. Jill won the first round so she got to choose a gift card. She opened it and it was a $5 gift card to Twilzberry (a frozen yogurt joint). Then Jace won and he chose a gift card (to Hastings) and then we kept playing until all the gift cards were chosen. But, if you won a round and you had already won a round, you could steal a gift card that was already opened or you could keep your current one. I really liked Jill's giftcard and I managed to snag it but then Pauline won her first (she was the last one to win) and she grabbed mine so I had to take the last unopened giftcard (which coincedently was the one she brought) which was a $5 giftcard to McDonald's. I cannot complain, I am sure I can find something there.

It was a lot of fun to play these games for the giftcards and we plan on getting together again for dinner and then telling everyone what we bought with our giftcards. It was so successful that we plan on doing it again this Christmas. The only difference is that the young kids will be excluded and this will only be for adults. And the game might change as well, we might go for our usual poker tournament.

Logan: The Good Omen

I have to say that I am very, very lucky to have Logan. Since the moment he was born he has been a good omen. Even though he splashed me when he was born, he has been a good thing in my life.

The first night, after he was born, I spent the evening at the hospital. I held him as I watched the New York Jets defeat the New England Patriots for the AFC East Title.

Fast forward 8 years (or so) and another big Logan milestone was on the same day as a big game for the Jets. Yesterday, on January 8th, Logan was baptized.

He was a little nervous. That might be putting it a little mildly, he was pretty nervous. He wouldn't be quiet all morning until we got to the church. And then he zipped up tighter than the white jumper I had to wear. I am sure he became even more nervous when he had to share the dressing room with two other boys and two other dads. But we got dressed in our white jumpers and made it to the chapel and sat on the front row. I can tell he was still nervous. My jumper was a little tight, I had to suck in my gut the whole time and I had to get up slowly from sitting since that thing rode up a road that is not travelled much. I know, I know, too much information. I am sorry but I want to remember this special experience.

"Hurry! Take the picture before my gut explodes!"

Some of my family took part in the program. Logan asked Grandma Breinholt to play a special musical number on the piano and it was beautiful. It certainly set the tone for the meeting. Aunt Lynn was asked to give a talk about the Holy Ghost and she did so well. I am not sure if she was nervous or if she was a little emotional but I have never heard Lynn speak so softly (it is not like she yells all the time or anything like that). The talks were perfect and then it was time for Logan to be dunked.

When I was baptized, I had to go under three times! I wore a belt that was way too long and it kept coming to the surface when my dad baptized me. Logan didn't have a belt with his jumper and we practiced a ton of times beforehand. But according to Aaron and Gregg, Logan didn't make it the first time. His knee poked out of the water so I had to do it again. Logan is definitely my son alright!

I whispered to him that we did a test run and we did it again and got it right. Afterwards we dressed (again nervously in a crowded dressing room) and we went to another room for the confirmation. I am so blessed and so glad that Logan chose me to do both. The confirmation went very well, I could feel the Spirit. I am so proud of my special little guy.

After the confirmation, Bishop Hebdon asked Kristy if she would bare her testimony. That didn't surprise me at all, I think the Bishopric likes to get Kristy to bear her testimony. Then the Primary President spoke to Logan and then the Bishop concluded the meeting after he spoke a few words. My Bishop always says the perfect things. I asked his Aunt Sherry to say the closing prayer and then we met over at our church to have some lunch.

I love pictures of people eating.

See?

Renae looks so happy eating.

Such cute nieces and nephews.

Breinholt Relief Society.

The Bishop and his illegal family (not sure I want to blog this inside joke, I don't want him to get into trouble!) came along with my dad and his family, Jennifer and her family, my mom and most of Kristy's family.

I am very grateful for my family and my extended (in-laws) family. They treat me so good and they are always so supportive. It was a perfect day. Mom and Dad came over for a short visit and Renae and Gregg came over (so Renae had a place to feed Ty) and it was nice to sit and relax and chat. We made a quick impromptu visit to get some Aggie Ice Cream and then we came home to watch the Jets game.

A perfect ending to a perfect day. The Jets did win in the last seconds of the game, so yes, Logan is a good omen for me. But I would trade all the Jet victories to have a special day like this with him and my family again.

Greek Food Fest

Day 243

Yesterday we went over to my dad's house to celebrate my birthday and I forgot my camera. I hate it when I forget my camera.

It was a nice evening. We had Lemon Greek Chicken, Greek Potato Salad (it had red peppers and kalamata olives in it), baked beans from a crock pot, corn on the cob, pistachio salad and a boatload of olives and marinated cucumbers. And on top of that we had a German Chocolate Cake and an Oreo Cake. You have to trust me, the food was fantastic as always. I wish I had a picture of it.

While the food was good, the cards were openly mocking me for my birthday. We play a game called "Old Bob" and I was getting my trash kicked. I thought that my family was supposed to let me win? The cards were the only bad thing about the evening, that is until we got home.

I once got spoiled by my family. I got a Borders gift card (which I am spending this very second in another tab) and a Little Mermaid charm. Yeah, you heard me. My sister got me a Little Mermaid charm from when they went to Disneyland.

It is really, really tiny. When I get my baby girl, I'll make a necklace for her.

I also got a gift certificate to Famous Footwear from my dad and family. That was really needed since I rarely buy shoes. I am in terrible need of a nice pair of sandals and I might see what other shoes I can fit in. I am quite excited to do some shoe shopping. I cannot believe that I just said that.

When we got home, Kristy left to go do her water aerobics and Logan was complaining that he didn't feel good. I personally thought it was because it was past his bedtime and with all the running around and drinking four juiceboxes. He said he had to barf and I thought that was just an attention ruse.

Boy was I wrong. It was like something out of the Exorcist. And it wasn't just the barf.

By the fourth go around, Logan was dry heaving so badly. It was like a train wreck, I couldn't stop watching. Part of me was horrified and disgusted and part of me was strangely curious watching Logan wretch and contort his body like that as he dry heaved.

Poor kid. He is fine now and fell asleep after the last puke. Normally, I cannot handle barf. If he had pooped all over the place, I could handle that. But the sight and smell of barf really makes me gag. But I handled it like a man. I just turned my head when he started to heave and thought of the Little Mermaid.

Okay that last part was a lie. I wasn't thinking of Ariel, I just wanted to tie everything together.

Happy Birthday Matt!

Day 240

Happy Birthday to me!

Yup, it is my birthday and I am already feeling much better than yesterday and the day before. Eventually I will blog about what happened but right now I would rather dwell on the positive and kick the negative to the curb.

I would like to give a special shout-out to all those that called, e-mailed, Facebooked and contacted me wishing me a happy birthday. I appreciate it all. I have a fantastic set of family and friends.

My Aunt Margo always sends a homemade card with her artwork.

My day started like it has for the last couple of days. I have woken up all hot and muggy, not my favorite thing to wake up too. And it is not hot flashes like some might think, I just am not friends with the heat like I am with the cold. I was happy for the cool morning and I took off to go work at my Dad's. My dad wished me a Happy Birthday and gave me one of the greatest birthday cards you can get. He went to the store and was looking all over for a perfect card and just couldn't find one. Then he found one but was taken back by how much it cost. It was around $4 and my dad thought that money would be better spent. So he bought me these two HUGE boxes of Junior Mints (larger than the ones you get at the movies) and put a note in between. He said he would rather have four dollars worth of Junior Mints than a four dollar card! I am finding out that my dad and I are a lot alike. We ate some cinnamon rolls and I was only there for a few hours. He gave me a few hours off for my birthday!

I came home and promptly went out for a run. It was already getting warm but I wanted to take advantage of the coolness of the morning. So I went out thinking I would have a terrible time running. I was already very tired (I didn't sleep all that good because of the heat) and I have not been out since last Thursday. Surprisingly, my run went very well and I lasted a lot longer than I thought I would.

My mom came over later in the evening to watch Logan (he wanted to spend time with Grandma Platis instead of going out to eat as a family) and she got me a wonderful gift. An autobiography on Larry H. Miller, a prominent Utah businessman and former owner of the Utah Jazz. We managed to convince Logan to go out to eat and we all went to the Beehive Grill. We came home and Kristy and I went out birthday shopping. I couldn't decide what to get but I did manage to come home with a box of Otter Pops. Man, I have been craving those like nothing else. We ate cake and ice cream and Kristy and Logan got me a neat birthday gift. Something I never thought I would be happy to get and something I am sure Kristy never thought she would get me.

Yay! New shoes!

I got a new pair of running shoes! And they look killer and feel so light. I cannot wait to try them out. I am sure Kristy is on cloud nine, finally after a decade of trying, she has got me running. I still don't like it all that much but I see the benefit.

Now you can see how big of box those Junior Mints are!

I also got a nice unexpected message from a friend of mine from long, long ago. A couple of days ago I blogged about my 5th grade and I mentioned another blog I wrote about a certain experience that I regret. This person sent me a message telling me not to worry about. She didn't remember the incident at all. It was nice to have that burden lifted.

So all in all I had a nice day. Again, I appreciate the kind words and birthday wishes.

The Anhder Family Reunion

Day 213

Yesterday was our bi-annual Anhder Family Reunion. I have been going to these for as long as I can remember which may only be just a few years since my memory isn't what it used to be.

I know for sure that we have had one almost every year since I met Kristy. So it has been at least 13 years or so. The Anhder Family Reunion usually is at my Uncle Kurt's house and he and his family is gracious enough to host all of us. After Grandpa and Grandma Anhder passed away we still hold the Anhder Family Reunion but instead of every Memorial Day, we do it every-other Memorial Day.

My Aunt Margo for the first couple of years made these family packets which included family contact information, pictures, games and other tidbits of family history.

This the first one from 2000.

The Anhder Family Reunion this year was a lot of fun. It was good to see family that I have not seen since the last Anhder Family Reunion. The food was fantastic. Kurt grilled up some tasty chicken, hotdogs and cheeseburgers and there were a ton of salads.

And then they broke out the cotton candy machine, I must have ate 4-5 bags worth. And the best part was I never had to go and get it on my own. I had some awesome cousins to help this old man out.

After we ate and ate and ate (and visited) Kurt brought out the keg to play some Anhder Bingo. We have been playing this for years and the game is the exact same thing as Bingo only you have to yell "Anhder" instead of "Bingo" when winning. And the prizes are usually more treats and candy. After a couple of rousing games of Anhder Bingo we sat and relaxed. The weather was perfect for this and the kids had a great time. I am lucky and blessed to have such great aunts and uncles and cousins.

And before I was able to leave, Aunt Lesa talked me into a couple more bags of cotton candy. One that I promptly ate.

Logan and his cousin Dax eating cotton candy in the bouncy house.

Jennifer and I really got all types of enjoyment out of our cotton candy.

As did Kristy.

I am already looking forward to the next one in 2 years. Thanks Kurt and Lesa for hosting the party.

One Last Easter... One Final Episode...

Day 156

Yesterday was a fantastic day. It was filled with food, chocolate, cards and the sad end to one of my favorite shows. But more on that later.

Yesterday we celebrated Greek Easter with Grandpa Platis and Grandma Pauline and family. And it was a nice time. There was a ton of yummy Greek food including fresh Feta cheese, Kalamata olives and spread, baskets and baskets of bread, red peppers, more cheese, Spanakopita, and Dolmades.

So much food and I downed it with so much soda. After we ate we played Old Bob, which is a family favorite card game and ate Creme eggs. It was such a nice day.

Then we came home and put Logan to bed and we watched the Season Finale of Celebrity Fit Club: Bootcamp. I love the last episode because they show how fat they were and they shrink down to their current size. Watching this show does motivate me to continue to watch what I eat and exercise. Some of these celebrities lost up to 30 pounds! It is also neat to see their personality change, they are much happier and they know it.

The Blue Team won and I am very happy that they did. They deserved it. And I am glad that Jay won the individual prize because he deserved that. Aside from Char, Nicole and Bobby definitely cost their team the victory.

Sebastian Bach was my favorite team member. He had to be the funniest one there and the one I would want to hang out with. Sadly, my crush on Nicole Eggert took a huge hit by watching this show. And it has nothing to do with her weight. She was fake and was not very nice and I don't like her anymore. She also had excuses for everything and denied any help feeling that she was right. I am so glad that Harvey called her out at the end. But I had to admit that the best moment of the season finale is when K-Fed manned up. Now I am not into celebrity gossip and I had no idea what his story was before. But I am extremely proud that he owned up and admitted he was selfish. We waited all season for this and I am glad he took that step. It takes a big man to own up to being selfish and it takes a bigger man to apologize.

I am totally gushing about this show aren't I?

I will end it with with favorite moment during this season provided by Sebastian.

Happy 12th Anniversary!

Day 61

Yesterday was our 12th wedding anniversary!

12 years! That is so insane to me. The last 12 years have been absolutely wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a better wife and companion and best friend.

Usually we go out for dinner, just the two of us for our anniversary. Unfortunately our babysitter at the last moment crapped out on us and we couldn't find one on such short notice. And we didn't want to call around to arrange babysitting with just an hour to spare so we celebrated our anniversary as a family.

Logan was not feeling so good either. So Kristy went out to grab some burgers (Logan REALLY wanted a cheeseburger and we were not in the mood to fight him) and we ate and relaxed. We put Logan to bed and Kristy and I watched a movie together. Sounds romantic right? To be honest, this is the type of evening I love. Eating burgers and spending time together at home. And I love that Kristy is happy to have a nice quiet evening at home too.

Our wedding day was cold and foggy. Why in the heck did we decide to get married in December? We got up early and headed to the Logan Temple to get married. We sat beside our dear friends and family and was married for time and eternity. It was so beautiful, Kristy looked stunning. My sister helped her with her hair early that morning. Afterwards we went outside and took pictures outside the Temple. It was so cold, poor Kristy, at least I had a suit jacket. After a ton of pictures we went downtown to the Bluebird Restaurant and had our wedding breakfast. After that we headed down to West Jordan (about 2 hours away) for our wedding reception. It was real foggy, I was surprised about who attended because the fog was pretty thick.

I tried to hide my car but Kristy's family found it and decorated it. When I found my car there was a dog eating some ham off of my tire. I chased the dog away and opened the door and Steven (Kristy's littlest brother) had stuck some ham underneath it. Nothing like frozen food stuck to my white car! They also doused it with dishwasher soap so when I took the car to the car wash, it frothed during the rinse.

That night we stayed at a hotel in Salt Lake City. It was such a draining and tiring day but it was all worth it.

Thanks Kristy for a fantastic 12 years!

Pic of the Week: Decorating for Christmas

Day 42

We finally got around and decorated our Christmas tree and I am especially excited because this is the first year since I have been married that we have a real tree. We also got all of our lights, garland and stockings up. We also cleaned up everything after so it is all ready for Christmas. I think this is the earliest we have decorated.

I am a sucker for lights. We have about six sets of lights going. I just love Christmas lights. I tried to put some in our window but it just wouldn't work. We have enough lights now that I can easily read!

This was our wedding garland. We put all of Grandma Anderson's homemade decorations on them. The picture just doesn't do it justice.

Logan was in charge of decorating the window. He did a good job.

Kristy was in charge of putting the lights on the Christmas tree. While I do like lights, I HATE putting them on the tree.

And because I love lights so much, I was in charge of of putting lights up. And of course I went overboard. I used the branches we had to cut off the tree and mixed them with the lights.

If Logan acts naughty I get out the large silver Christmas Punishment Spoon!

I put all of our snowmen decorations (we have a ton of them) on our fireplace mantle with a candle behind them. And of course, more lights!

Starting today and ending on Boxing Day, I will have a Christmas-related column. It has been fun trying to think of some Christmas columns. Lots of memories I can share.

I Stared at Goats

Day 19

Last Saturday evening I had a couple of unexpected visitors. My brother-in-law Steven, his wife Andrea and daughter Addy, along with my niece Cassie dropped in for a visit. It was good to see them, I was happy that they dropped by. Addy and Logan (and Steven) played while the rest of us chatted. I keep forgetting that I am now a Breinholt Vet, meaning I have been part of this family for twelve years. Luckily Cassie was there so it reminded me how old I am. She was just a little older than Addy when I first met her. Hmmmm... ...that might be a good column in itself. About an hour later Kristy's parents came over too. It was a nice evening.

Here is a pic of Logan hugging Addy goodnight. She is such a cutie!

I invited my sister over for some good ol' fashioned sibling rivalry. Well, it was not much of a contest when it comes to the Atari and Ice Hockey. She came over after all the kids were put to bed. Jennifer came to play the Atari and I went through a whole load of old pictures that we confiscated from our mom. I wanted to find some pictures for the blog and boy I got some gems. It was fun to sit and reminisce about our childhood. And it was a lot of fun teaming up together to wipe out some aliens in Space Invaders. We will need to do that again sometime.

Even when I was young I loved my soda.

Logan was sick today and had a fever of 102. So we kept him home from school today and I didn't work last night so I could watch him during the morning. The best part of a sick Logan is that he likes to cuddle. We watched a marathon of "Phineas and Ferb" the whole afternoon. If you have not seen that show, you need too! Seriously. Here are two of my favorite clips.

It has a platypus! How could I not love it?

Tonight I went to a movie with my dad and brother Nathan. We saw an early showing of "The Men Who Stared At Goats." I was feeling a little blue today and that movie certainly cheered me up. I can't describe it but I can only say that was my type of movie. Clooney and Ewan were so great in this film, I laughed through the whole thing. If you like quirky movies or love either of these actors, you gotta check this movie out. I have to see this again.

I have a pretty cool family and I am happy for the chance to spend time with them.

Remembrance Day

Day 11

Today is Veteran's Day in the United States but it will always be better known to me as Remembrance Day. Remembrance Day is observed on November 11th to recall the end of World War I on this date back in 1918. World War I ended officially at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 when Germany signed the Armistice.

I remember this day when I lived in Canada. We would have a special assembly and sang the national anthem and listened to speakers. We also were given plastic poppies to wear throughout the day. The significance of the Poppy and how it became tied to Remembrance Day is because of John McCrae's poem "In Flanders Fields." It was because of the poppies that bloomed on the battlefields of Flanders in World War I. The red color symbolizing the blood that was shed during the war, both Armed Forces and civilian casualties.

I am extremely thankful for all those that have chosen to fight so that I can enjoy my freedom. I can do what I want, I can worship how I want to worship, I can read comics, I can do anything because someone is protecting my freedom. It is a debt that I cannot possibly repay.

I have many members of my family that have served in the Armed Forces in way capacity or another and I would like to take some time to recognize them for their efforts. I feel bad because there is a lot I don't know about my family. But I have a goal to rectify this. I will be able to give a full report of my family that served. Thanks to my parents for giving me some information at such short notice.

George Platis (uncle): George served in the Pacific region during World War II. He was a 1st Leutinet in the Navy. He was in charge of bringing in material/supplies for the troops after they landed. His letters to his parents have been published in his book (which will be another column for this blog). He was part of the Invasion of Iwo-Jima. Because he was tall and wore an officer's uniform he was always a target of snipers. He passed away when I was very young.

John Platis (uncle): John joined the Navy late due to age. He spent most of time stationed in Hawaii. He was in the Navy. He was a flight instructor and luckily didn't see any action.

Nick Platis (uncle): Nick served in the Air Force in the Korean War. His main assignment was to be a side gunner on the B-29 Bomber. He flew more missions than the required amount the Air Force wanted. He was part of a very successful air campaign that caught the enemy by surprise. Unfortunately he and his crew were to fly that same mission and the enemy was prepared. Twelve planes went in on the attack and only one came out. The plane was severely damaged (only one wheel was available because the rest of the landing gear was destroyed) and he was injured when the plane crashed. His leg was hurt but he was happy he survived. He credited the Australian pilots (single fighter planes) that were attacking at the same time, they took most of the heat. Nick passed away just a few years ago.

Paul Platis (my dad): He was drafted into the Vietnam War. He didn't serve in Vietnam but served Veterinarian Corp for two years in Thailand.

Dean Platis (uncle): He was drafted into Vietnam War. Served stateside for two years in Texas. His assignment was various clerical positions at the Battalion HQ.

Roger Dean Carstens (cousin): He served recently in the Afghanistan conflict. He is a retired Army Special Forces Lieutenant Colonel.

Chris Toner (cousin): I believe he served as a Major in the Afghanistan conflict.

Theron Anhder (Grandfather): Served in World War II and the Korean War. He was on the ship I remember him showing me his Japanese sword and German Luger that he confiscated from the enemy. He was on the battleship Missouri when Japan officially surrendered in a ceremony. His brother Theo stormed the beach at Iwo-Jima and his other brother Lamoine was in Air Force during World War II.

Jerry Case (uncle): Served in the Vietnam War: SGT Reconnaissance Team Leader

Wes Goring (cousin): Served recently in the Afghanistan conflict.

I might have missed some family members or got some information correct. If you have more information please send me an e-mail. By Memorial Day, I will have a full accounting of my family's service in the Armed Forces.

On behalf of my family and I, we appreciate and value all of the people serving in the Armed Forces. Thank you for giving and securing us our freedom. Our thoughts and prayers are with those that currently serve.

Thank you!

It Begins!

I can't believe that November is here already. Time certainly goes pretty quickly. We had a saying while on my LDS mission. "The days seem like weeks but the weeks seem like days". While that may be true most of the time, there have been some weeks that felt like months but I think that is only during football season. This morning I debated about which entry should be the inaugural entry but I couldn't pick one out. Instead I think I will start out with some of my basic family history. Maybe put some faces on some names I am sure to mention again.

My full name is Matthew Paul Platis. I go by Matt, I think only my mom still calls me Matthew. I was born in 1974 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. So yeah, I am a Canuck. My parents, Paul and Kathy were both born in Utah. They had my sister Jennifer and then they moved to Edmonton. My dad was offered a job with the Provincial Parks and they moved to Canada. I was born at the Royal Alexander Hospital. We lived there for thirteen years. My parents divorced and I and my mom moved to Richmond, Utah in the United States. My dad and sister stayed behind. Eventually my dad moved to Logan, Utah (just a few miles away from Richmond). My sister stayed in Edmonton and she got married to a fella named Dave. They lived up there for a few years and then he applied and got a job at Utah State University here in Logan. So they moved down. My dad got remarried to a Canuck and she (Pauline) moved down to the States as well.

I have a brother named Nathan as well. He is my dad's and Pauline's son. My sister also had a child while she was living in Canada named Jillian. Soon after they were born, I served an LDS mission to New York City. After I came home I soon dated Kristy, my eventual wife. My sister divorced her first husband and I got married. I married Kristy Breinholt back in December of 1997. My sister Jennifer then married a guy I used to go to high school with named Justin. Kristy and I had our first child named Logan in 2002. Soon after my sister had a couple more kids named Dax and Jace.

So there you have it, a basic family history. You will be hearing about these people again so that is why I am giving you a brief look at my family.

Kristy, Logan and I.

My Mom.

Logan, my brother Nathan holding nephew Jace, my niece Jillian and my nephew Dax.

My sister Jennifer and her hubby Justin.

Grandma Pauline, my Dad (Papoo) and Logan

One of my future columns will cover all about Kristy's family. They deserve their own column altogether.
